Anna wins Kendig Memorialon 5th scorecard tiebreaker

PIQUA — Anna won on the fifth-man tiebreaker after tying with Versailles, and Fairlawn was just one stroke behind those two in the annual Kendig Memorial Golf Tournament held at Echo Hills in Piqua Wednesday morning.

Anna and Versailles both shot 339. Anna was led by Zach Watren with a 79, Eli Kuck had an 83, Mason Platfoot 86, and Evan Bensman 91. Fifth man Troy Rindler shot a 98 and that proved to be the difference.

Nicholas Litten-Stonebraker led Versailles with 78, Kyle Cotner had an 84, Isaac Ruhenkamp 88 and Alex Groff 89. The Tigers’ fifth manshot a 105.

Fairlawn was just one stroke back at 340. Mason Jones led the Jets with an 81, Nathan Lessing had an 83, Kody Curtner 87 and Jacob Caldwell 89.

Brad Gottemoeller shot a 77 to lead Fort Loramie, which finished fourth, just one stroke behind Fairlawn. Zach Pleiman added 84, Shae Swick 87 and Ethan Broerman 93.

Russia placed 11th with a 384. Jack Dapore led with an 82, Dillon Cordonnier had a 90, Brandon Koverman 106 and Will Sherman 106.

And Houston finished in 15th spot, with Tristin Stangel shooting 101, Bryan Funk 103, Cameron Via 111 and Nathan Stangel 114.
