The Sidney-Shelby County YMCA will hold its 11th annual 5K Run/Walk on Sept. 12 starting at 8:30 a.m.

This year’s 5K features a new course where participants will start and finish at the YMCA. This year’s event will also include a one-mile fun run starting at 8 a.m. Awards, refreshments, children’s activities and music will be at the finish line.

Deadline for pre-registrations is Friday (Aug. 28). You can also register on race day from 7:30 to 8:15. T-shirts will be guaranteed to those that pre-register, however.

The overall top male and female finishers will receive a trophy. The top three male and female finishers in each age division will receive an award.

All proceeds from the event will go towards the YMCA Community Partners Campaign, which provides financial assistance for YMCA memberships, child care fees and programs fees for individuals in Shelby County.
