The Sidney-Shelby County YMCA swim team finsihed well at the annual YMCA Pentathlon, held recently at the local facility.
There were 317 swimmers participating this year, and five local swimmers finished as overall champions in their age groups.
Three swimmers won the overall gold medal, finishing in first place. They included Owen Zimpher, who was first in the 8-and-under boys. He took first in the 100-individual medley, 25-free and the 25-butterfly. He also placed second in the 25-backstroke to earn enoughpoints for first overall.
Jahvon Lloyd took gold in the 11-12 boys by winning four events, including the 100-IM, the 50-fly, the 50-backstgroke and the 50-breaststroke. He was also second in the 50-free.
It was a battle between Lloyd and Isaiah Watson from the Auglaize-Mercer YMCA. Watson finished second.
Jaden Humphrey took gold in the 13-14 boys and was also being poushed by two Auglaize-Mercer swimmers. But with firsts in the 200-IM and the 100-backstroke, seconds in the 100-free and 100-fly, and also a sixth in the 100-breaststroke, he had enough points to secure the gold medal.
Bella Busio was second overall and took the silver medal in the 8-and-under girls. She was second in the 100-IM, third in trhe 25-free, 25-fly and 25-back, and sixth in the 25-breaststroke.
Chase VanTilburgh took the third-place bronze medal in the 15-and-over boys. He was second in the 100-fly, 100-breaststroke, third in the 200-IM and 100-free, and sixth in the 100-backstroke.
Awards were given to the top 12 in each event. Following is a list of Sidney swimmers who earned those awards:

Versailles-Tipp City
TROY — The Versailles High School girls swim team defeated four other team in a meet at the Miami County YMCA Friday.
Versailles had 111, Northmont 72, Tipp City 781, Urbana 42 and Stebbins 12.
The Lady Tigers had six first-place finishes, and four of them came from Emily Kramer. She teamed with Heather Albers, Faith Wilker and Payton Berger to win the 200-medley relay in 2:09.84, won the 200-free in 2:25.68, won the 100-breaststroke in 1:15.66, and teamed with Berger, Wilker and Albers to win the 200-free relay in 1:56.7.
Albers was also first in the 100-free in 1:05.49 and was second in the 100-breaststroke in 1:17.96, and Wilker added a first place in the 100-butterfly in 1:18.55.
Tori Ahrens was second in the 50-free in 30.05, and second in the 100-free in 1:09.53, and the 200-free relay team of Kari Mangen, Grace Francis, Chloe Francis and Deanna Day was second in 2:09.44.
Berger added a third-place in the 100-breaststroke in 1:26.27.
• The Versailles boys were second with 92 points behind Northmont’s 139 in the same meet. Tipp City was third with 37 and Urbana fourth with 33.
Versailles had four first-place finishes.
Clint Morgan won two, the 50-free in 23.14 and teamed with Kyle Dapore, Nathanial Nelson and Cole Condon to win the 200-free relay in 1:39.12.
Condon was first in the 500-free in 6:01.65, and Dapore won the 100-free in 59.17.
The 200-medley relay team of Morgan, Mitchell Huelskamp, Condon and Dapore was second in 2:00.22, Morgan was second in the 100-back in 1:07.06, Condon was second in the 100-breaststroke in 1:13.36, and the team of Jarrod Wagner, Pete Barga, Nelson and Stuart Baltes was second in the 400-free relay in 4:34.22.
Barga added a third-place finish in the 100-flhy in 1:26.24.
