CELINA — The Russia girls traveled to the Mercer County Elks to play Marion Local and came away with a 211-240 victory in girls golf action Thursday.

The Lady Raiders were led by Maddie Borchers’ 49. Alicia George shot a 52 and Kara Barlage and Lizzie Adams both added 55s.

For Marion, Hannah Moeller and Molly Kindle both shot 59, Jessica Hoyt had a 60 and Carlee Kremer 62.

39 for Heitkamp

CELINA — The Versailles girls also played at the Mercer Elks, and Lauren Heitkamp found it very much to her liking, shooting the second-best score in the area among the girls this season with a 39 to lead the Lady Tigers to a 192-273 win over outmatched Coldwater.

Maddie Covault added a 47, and Lauren Durham and Morgan Heitkamp both shot 53s.

Tiger boys win

VERSAILLES — Versailles defeated Coldwater in Midwest Athletic Conference play at Stillwater 158-168 Thursday in boys golf action.

The Tigers are 6-1 in dual matches, and all have been in league play.

Nicholas Litten Stonebraker shot a 36 to lead the Tigers, Griffen Riegle had a 38, Kyle Cotner 40 and Jacob Watren 44.

Minster falls by 9

MINSTER — The Minster boys lost by nine strokes to visiting St. Henry in MAC action Thursday, leaving the Wildcats at 3-5 on the season.

Ben Stubbs led the Wildcats with a 46, Jordan Brackman had a 47, Adam Knapke 48 and Brett Hoelscher 50.
