BOTKINS — Anna bounced back from a loss Monday to defeat Botkins 3-0 in County volleyball action Tuesday at Botkins.

The scores were 25-11, 25-20, 25-16 and the win upped Anna’s record to 10-4 overall and 5-1 in the County.

Botkins goes to 4-8 and 0-6.

For Anna, Sarah Bettinger led with eight kills, Krista Gehret had seven and Kennedey Glover six.

Elizabeth Landies had 21 assists and 12 digs, Mackenzie Wells had 12 digs and three aces, Avery Bensman had 11 digs and Paige Richard 10 digs. Caileigh Kirtley had five block assists.

Sami Vehorn had seven kills for Botkins, Blake Maurer nine assists and Jenna Pitts 26 digs.

Anna won the JV game 25-12, 25-14.

Fairlawn wins

over Russia 3-0

SIDNEY — Fairlawn won 3-0 over Russia in County volleyball action Tuesday, the scores being 25-16, 25-21, 25-18.

The Lady Jets reached double figures in wins with the victory, now standing 10-3 on the season. They are even at 3-3 in the County. Russia is now 5-7 overall and 2-4 in the league.

For Fairlawn, Audrey Francis had 14 kills and 24 digs, Mollie Roe had 12 kills and nine digs, Paige Vondenheuvel had 10 kills, Chelsea Brautigam had 34 assists and 14 digs, and Lauren Weinschenk had 10 digs.

For Russia, Cameo Wilson had seven kills, Cassie Pleiman 27 digs, Katie Swartz 11 assists and Christina Gaerke two solo blocks.

Russia won the JV game 25-21, 25-13.

Sidney wins 4th

straight match

SIDNEY — Sidney ran its winning streak to four straight with a 3-0 win over visiting Trotwood Tuesday 25-18, 25-7, 25-7. in Greater Western Ohio Conference North play.

Carrie Nuss handed out 20 assists for Sidney, with Adrienna Cook getting seven kills and Emily Tolbert five. Ally Spangelr had four aces.

The JV team won 25-7, 25-5. Allie Herrick had 14 ace serves.

Minster falls to SH

MINSTER — Minster took on St. Henry in Midwest Athletic Conference play and lost 3-1, the scores being 23-25, 25-13, 25-10, 25-14.

Rosie Westerbeck and Hannah Schmitmeyer both had nine kills for Minster and Jordyn Heitbrink eight. Hayley Baumer handed out 24 assists and had 21 digs, LeAnn Huelsman had 23 digs, Heitbrink had 14 digs and Schmitmeyer 12.

MONDAY

Landis reaches

1,000 assists

ANNA — New Knoxville defeated Anna in three straight, 25-19, 25-21, 25-21 in non-league action Monday at Anna.

The loss left Anna 9-4 with a game Tuesday night at Botkins. New Knoxville went t6o 7-3 and was at Parkway last night.

Highlighting the game for Anna was Elizabeth Landis, who recorded the 1,000th assist of her career early in the match, She went on to finish with 30 assists in the game.

Krista Gehret had 13 kills and Kennedey Glover nine. Mackenzie Well shad 22 digs and three ace serves, and Avery Bensman also had 22 digs.

For Knoxville, Kenzie Schroer had 29 assists and 12 digs, Madison Lammers had 12 kills and 17 blocks, anxd Rachel Leffel had 10 kills and seven digs.

Aby Lageman had 21 digs, Jenna Schwieterman 13 digs and Shayna Bierlein 11 digs and three aces serves.

Sidney sweeps

SIDNEY – Sidney swept all three matches with visiting Bellefontaine in volleyball action Monday, taking the freshman, junior varsity and varsity games.

The varsity won 25-19, 25-11, 25-20.

Carie Nuss had 35 assists for Sidney and Adrienna Cook and Amanda Thomas were the beneficiaries with 12 and 11 kills, respectively. Nuss also had three aces and McKenzie Lambdin two.

Kiana Calvert had nine digs and Nuss and Grace Shell seven apiece as the Lady Jackets upped their record to 6-9.

The JV won 25-20, 25-16, with Payton Boshears finishing with 11 assists. Jada Rowland and Alina Kindle had five kills each and Allie Herrick nine digs. Boshears also had two aces.

In the freshman game, Sidney won 25-15, 25-23, with Boshears getting 10 assists and Arielle Snider seven kills and three aces. Paige Davis also had three aces.

Russia falls in 3

FORT RECOVERY — Russia lost in three games at Fort Recovery Monday night 25-23, 25-12, 25-13.

Rachel Heuing had 10 kills, Katie Swartz 10 assists and Cassie Pleiman 21 digs.

The JV team lost 25-20, 25-16.

SATURDAY

Sidney wins tri

The Sidney Lady Jackets swept a home tri-match with Houston and Indian Lake in high school volleyball action Saturday.

They defeated Houston 25-23, 25-14. Hannah Wiford had four aces, Amanda Thomas, Adrienna Cook and Emily Tolbert all had seven kills, and Carrie Nuss finished with 21 assists. McKenzie Lambdin had eight digs.

Sidney then defeated Indian Lake 21-25, 25-21, 25-21. Serving was again key, with Nuss getting five aces and Lambdin three.

Cook and Thomas had eight kills apiece and Ally Spangler added five. Nuss set them up with 23 assists, Thomas had two solo blocks and Grace Shell led the defense with seven digs.

The junior varsity also won both games, beating Houston 25-19 and Lake 25-21.

Against Houston, Payton Boshears had 18 digs and Jada Rowland six kills.

Against Lake, Rowland had seven kills and Arielle Snider six. Boshears again led the defense with 14 digs and Maddie white nine to go with two ace serves.

Sidney, now 5-9, hosts Bellefontaine tonight.

JC now 10-0

JACKSON CENTER — The No. 2-ranked Jackson Center Lady Tigers took care of visiting Lima Catholic in three games Saturday 25-18, 25-15, 25-13 to go to 10-0 on the season.’

The Lady Tigers were led by Cassie Meyer with 15 kills and 12 digs, and Pauline Meyer with eight kills, seven digs and two aces.

Alicia Kessler added seven kills, Erin Metz had five kills, three blocks and three aces, Peyton Esser had 20 digs, Kamryn Elchert 11 assists and nine digs, and Jayel Frye 10 assists.

Jackson also won the JV contest 2-0.

Anna tops NB

ANNA — Anna upped its record to 9-3 with a 3-0 win over New Bremen Saturday in non-league play. The scores were 25-18, 25-23, 25-13.

Sarah Bettinger had nine kills for the Lady Rockets and Krista Gehret and Kennedey Glover added six apiece.

Elizabeth Landis had 22 assists, Paige Richard 12 digs and Avery Bensman nine digs.

Bensman and Caileigh Kirtley had two aces apiece.

Bremen won the JV game 25-17, 25-23.

Lady Jets win

The Fairlawn girls defeated Waynesfield-Goshen in three Saturday, 25-7, 25-17, 25-10.

Audrey Francis had nine kills, 10 assists, six digs and three aces, Chelsea Brautigam had seven kills, 15 assists and two aces, Lauren Dudgeon had six kills and Lauren Weinschenk had 14 digs.

Fairlawn is now 9-3.

Loramie wins two

CLAYTON — Fort Loramie defeated both Northmont and Tecumseh in non-league action on Saturday at Northmont.

The Lady Redskins, now 9-5, beat Northmont 25-20 and 25-21, and beat Tecumseh 25-17, 25-18.

No other details were available.

CA wins three

BOWLING GREEN — Christian Academy returned to action after a week of Saturday and beat Bowling Green Christian once and Harvest Temple twice to run its record to 4-3.

Summer Inman had nine aces and 29 kills in the three games, Alexis Boersma had 13 kills and Micah Carter had eight ace serves.

CA beat BG 25-18, 25-12, 25-21, beat Harvest in the first game 26-24, 25-11, 25-22, and Harvest again 25-18, 25-20, 25-8.
