MARIA STEIN — Fort Loramie was in control for three quarters against Marion Local Tuesday night in non-league action, but the roof caved in on the Lady Redskins in a 59-52 setback to end the regular season.
The loss gave Fort Loramie a final regular-season mark of 14-8, and they will return to action Saturday in the Division 4 Sectional at Sidney against Riverside.
Marion Local is now 12-9 and will conclude regular-season play Thursday at New Knoxville in league play.
Fort Loramie built up a seven-point lead after three quarters against Marion, only to be outscored 25-11 in the final period.
Abby Holthaus had 15 to lead the Lady Redskins, hitting seven of her nine field goal attempts.
Reyan Frey hit three three-pointers and finished with 11, and Sara Stang added 10 and was 6-for-8 from the line.
Loramie hit 18 of 48 shots from the field for 37 percent and was 12-for-16 from the line.
Marion Local was led by Macey Griesdorn with 15, and she had plenty of help. Natalie Rethman added 14 and was 3-for-3 from three-point range, and Sarah Fesenmeyer finished with 13.
Griesdorn was 7-for-9 from the line, Jessie Kremer was 5-for-6 and finished with nine points, and Kara Evers was 4-for-4 on free throws.
The Lady Flyers were 16-for-35 from the field for 45 percent, and 23-for-30 from the line.

Minster 39, Wapak 36, OT
MINSTER — The Minster Lady Wildcats got past the last distraction before their big game tonight for the Midwest Athletic Conference title, edging Wapakoneta in non-league basketball action at Minster Tuesday, 39-36 in overtime.
The win put the Lady Wildcats at 19-2 on the year and they will put their 8-0 MAC record on the line tonight at home against Fort Recovery. Minster has already clinched a share of the title, but a loss would mean Versailles would tie for the title.
Minster led 9-4 after a quarter, but managed only two points in the second period, assuring that it would be close the entire way.
It was 32-all after regulation in a low-scoring game, and in the overtime, Minster outscored the Lady Redskins 7-4.
Courtney Prenger had six of Minster’s seven in the OT, including 5-for-6 from the line. For the game, she was 10-for-11 on free throws and had 16 points to lead all scorers.
