Lehman’s junior high girls basketball teams both came away with Northwest Central Conference tournament championships in action recently.
The Lady Cavalier 8th grade team defeated Riverside in the championship 32-24 to finish the season with a 12-4 record.
Lindsey Magoteaux led the Lady Cavs with 10 points and Leann Trahey added seven. Anna Cianciolo and Emma Kennedy had four points apiece.
Lehman got to the championship with a 33-15 victory over Waynesfield in the semifinals.
In that game, Magoteaux had 16 points to lead the way.
The Lehman 7th grade girls won the NWCC championship with a 22-8 victory over Riverside.
Meghan Chamberlin was the top scorer for Lehman with eight.
Ella Monnin added four and Heidi Toner and Kate Steward had three apiece.
Lehman beat Hardin Northern 40-6 in the semifinals, behind eight points apiece from Colleen O’Leary and Macie Verdier, and seven from Chamberlin.
The Lehman 7th grade finished the season 9-5.
