Spencerville 2-0

SIDNEY — Lehman got back on track with a 2-0 win over Spencerville in Western Ohio Soccer League action at Lehman Tuesday.

The win gives the Cavaliers at 2-7 record overall and a 2-2 mark in WOSL action going into another league game tonight at Fairlawn.

“We needed this one,” said Lehman coach Tom Wiseman :We’ve had a togh run against some quality teams, but I think that experience helped us in this game. We worked our strategy of playing the corners and keeping possession deep, and that neutralized their coungterattack. Spencerville had some quick and athletic forwards and we limited their chances.

The Cavs struck early when Connor Thobe put in a rebound, with junior Trey Kerrigan getting the assist. Then leading scorer Jake Emrick scored his fifth goal of the season off a cross from John Henry Frantz to complete the scoring.

Lehman outshot the Bearcats 21-11.
