Lehman netters place 4that Schroeder Invitational

TIPP CITY — Lehman competed in the Schroeder Tennis Invitational in Tipp City Saturday and placed fourth out of eight teams with 25 points.

At first singles, Griffin West placed second. Sam Ritze was third at second singles and Michael Wesner was fourth at third singles.

The first doubles team of Ryan Goettemoeller and Danny Lins finished fourth and the second doubles team of Sean Toner and Elias Bezy was seventh.

“It was a great day for us,” said Lehman coach Tim Ungeright. “This is the best finish of any team I’ve coached at this tournament.”

Final team standings — 1. Celina 37, 2. West Milton 33, 3. St. Marys 27, 4. Lehman 25, 5. Northwestern 22, 6. Tipp City 19, 7. Piqua 10. 8. Kenton Ridge 8.

Sidney

Sidney played Friday and Saturday on the road, and dominated both days.

On Friday, the Jackets defeated West Carrollton 5-0, with the Pirates scoring just one point the entire match.

Prem Dev at first singles, Daichi Urata at second singles and Logan Searcy at third singles all won 6-0, 6-0, as did the first doubles team of Michael Ferree and Chance Cheek.

The second doubles team of Jersain Bruc and Broc Bey won 6-1, 6-0, and in a junior varsity singles match, Carter Vantilburg fit right in with an 8-0 pro set win.

• On Saturday, Sidney blanked Fairborn 5-0

Again, Dev and Urata won 6-0, 6-0, and Sidney won by forfeit at third singles.

At first doubles, Ferree and Cheek won 6-3, 6-3, and at second doubles Brux and Bey were victorious 6-0, 6-1.
