Lady Jackets fall to No. 18 Troy

TROY — The Sidney Lady Jackets were no match for 18th-ranked Troy in Greater Western Ohio Conference North Division volleyball action Thursday night, losing 3-0.

The scores were 25-12, 25-15, 25-13, and the loss snapped a four-game winning streak for the Lady Jackets, who are now 1-3 in the North and 7-10 overall. They host Greenville on Tuesday at the middle school.

For Sidney, Adrienna Cook had eight kills and Emily Tolbert five. Kiana Calvert and Carrie Nuss had eight digs each, and Nuss finished with 16 assists. Hannah Wiford served two aces.

The junior varsity lost to Troy 25-17, 25-14. Payton Boshears had nine assists and Allie Herrick 14 digs and two aces.

Lady Cavs win

over Riverside

DEGRAFF — The Lehman Lady Cavs took care of Riverside in impressive fashion, winning 3-0 on scores of 25-6, 25-8, 25-12.

The win puts Lehman at 10-4 overall and 4-0 in the Northwest Central Conference.

Sidney Chapman overwhelmed the Riverside defense by pounding out 23 kills.

Madison Hussey had 12 digs and Chapman and Madeline Smith 11 apiece. Maddy McFarland added nine.

Smith also had 34 assists, and Allie Hall had two solo blocks.

Marissa Davis had seven kills and 16 digs for Riverside, which is now 8-6.

Lehman faces a big challenge today at home against unbeaten and No. 2-ranked Jackson Center. The junior varsity game will start at 10 a.m.

Minster downs

Versailles 3-2

MINSTER — Minster defeated 15th-ranked Versailles 3-2 in Midwest Athletic Conference play Thursday to go to 6-8 on the season.

The scores were 20-25, 25-20, 25-21, 21-25, 15-11.

Jordyn Heitbrink had a double-double of 15 kills and 12 digs for Minster, Paige Thobe added 11 kills and Rosie Westerbeck finished with 10. Hannah Schmitmeyer had nine kills and 15 digs.

Hayley Baumer also had a double-double, handing out 44 assists and getting 16 digs. She also served up three aces. And LeAnn Huelsman led the defense with 26 digs.

NB tops NK

NEW BREMEN — New Bremen beat New Knoxville 3-1 in MAC volleyball Thursday, upping their record to 9-4 overall and 5-0 in the MAC. Knoxville is 9-4 and 3-2.

No stats were available for New Bremen.

For New Knoxville, Kenzie Schroer had 43 assists and eight digs, and Madison Lammers 19 kills and nine digs. Rachel Leffel added 10 kills and eight digs, and both Jenna Schwieterman and Shayna Bierlein added six kills for the Lady Rangers. Abby Lagemann had 15 digs and Bierlein added nine.

New Bremen won the JV match 2-1.
