SHS netters win 5-0

Sidney cruised to a 5-0 win over Piqua in Greater Western Ohio Conference North action Tuesday on the SHS courts.

Prem Dev won 6-2, 6-0 at first singles, Daichi Urata won 6-1, 6-1 at second singles, and Logan Searcy won 6-0, 6-3 at third singles.

At first doubles, Michael Fereer and Chance Cheek won 6-1, 6-0, and at second doubles, Jersain Brux and Nobel Zhou won 6-3, 6-1.

Monday

Lehman 5, Northridge 0

The Lehman boys tennis team blanked Dayton Northridge 5-0 in action Monday, allowing just three points the entire match.

Griffin West won 6-0, 6-0, Sam Ritze won 6-0, 6-0, and Cole Kramer won 6-0, 6-1 in singles play.

In doubles, Ryan Goettemoeller and Danny Lins won 6-0, 6-0, and Sean Toner and Elias Bezy won 6-1, 6-1.

Lehman is 8-3, and is ranked No. 6 in this week’s Miami Valley Tennis Coaches Association Division 2 poll.

Troy 5, Sidney 0

Sidney lost to league leading Troy 5-0 at Troy Monday.

Three of the matches, including first singles and both doubles, ended up 6-0, 6-0.

At second singles, Daichi Urata lost 6-3, 6-3, and at third singles, Logan Searcy lost by the same score.

The loss was Sidney’s first in Greater Western Ohio Conference American North play.

Sidney also lost three junior varsity matches.
