Lehman No. 2 in Ohio

The Ohio High School Baseball Coaches Association’s latest state baseball rankings have the Lehman Cavaliers moving up again this week, this time into the No. 2 spot in Division 4.

Coach Dave King’s squad is 21-2 on the season going into its first sectional tournament game at home Wednesday against the Fairlawn-Mechanicsburg winner.

The Minster Wildcats, 13-6, who made a huge jump in the rankings last week, going from unranked all the way up to the No. 11 spot, dropped one position to No. 12.

Fort Loramie made the biggest jump, going from No. 28 last week into the top 20 at No. 16. Riverside, No. 22 last week, dropped out of the rankings.

In Division 3 meanwhile, the Anna Rockets made a big jump, going from No. 12 last week up to No. 8. The top seed in the D-3 Sectional, the Rockets host the Northridge-East Clinton winner today (Wednesday) in their first tournament outing.

Miami Valley Coaches

The latest Miami Valley Baseball Coaches Association rankings have the Anna Rockets in the No. 1 spot in Division 3, with the Versailles Tigers right behind them.

The rankings also have Lehman in the No. 2 spot.

Released Tuesday morning, Lehman is second and Russia fourth in the Division 4 poll this week.

Softball

The latest rankings from the Ohio High School Softball Coaches Association have the New Bremen Lady Cardinals ranked 10th this week, a drop of three spots from last week.

The Lady Cardinals’ Midwest Athletic Conference foe Parkway remained in fourth spot.
