The Anna girls ran away with the team title at the annual County Track Meet, held this year at Fairlawn High School.

The Lady Rockets outpointed runner-up Fort Loramie by 39 points, and rolled up 166 on their own.

Kennedey Glover had an outstanding meet for the Lady Rockets, winning the 400 dash, the 800 run and running on two winning relay teams.

Kennedi Gephart of Fort Loramie won two events, the 100 and 200 dashes, and was third in the 400.

Anna’s Krista Gehret anchored two of the winning relay teams and also took second in the 200 and third in the 100.

• The boys final standings showed how Anna and Fort Loramie dominated. Anna also won the boys title with 156 and Loramie was close behind with 143. Third place Russia had 68.5.

Highlighting Friday’s action was Josh Miller of Botkins. He won the shot put and set a new meet record of 53 feet, 11.75 inches, two nights after setting a new meet record in winning the discus competition.

Tom Ballas dominated in the distance events for Fort Loramie. He won the 800 and 1600 runs, and ran on the 3200 relay team which set a new meet record Wednesday night by nearly 10 seconds.

Fairlawn senior Nathan Lessing won two events, the 100 and 200 dashes.

NWCC meet

WAYNESFIELD — Lehman competed in the finals of the Northwest Central Conference meet on Saturday, and the Lady Cavaliers turned in an excellent effort in taking the runner-up spot behind champion Waynesfield.

Alanna O’Leary led the way for Lehman, winning the 400 dash, finishing second by the slightest of margins in the 200, placing third in the 100 dash, and anchoring the first-place 800 relay team, which also included Lauren McFarland, Kaitrin O’Leary and Rylie McIver.

Alanna O’Leary’s time in the 200 was 25.92, and that bettered both the meet and stadium records. The winning time was 25.78.

Maria Schmiesing also had a strong meet, placing second in both the 800 and 1600, running on the second-place 3200 relay team with Theresa Flood, Caitlin Swallow and Sophia Flood, and running on the second-place 1600 relay team with McFarland, Kaitrin O’Leary and McIver.

• The Lehman junior high teams both performed well, the boys bringing back the NWCC championship with 106 points, and the girls placing second.

Drew Ivey led the Junior Cavalier boys to the title. He won the 100 dash in 12.10, the 200 in 25.12, and ran the lead leg on the 400 relay team that set new meet and stadium records with a 49.14. He was joined on that foursome by Scott Peterson, who finished behind him in second place in the 100 and 200, Kyle Pierre and Josh Kempfer.

Kempfer added a second in the 400, Hayden Schmidt was second in the 1600, and Tristan Neal won the high jump at 4-10.

For the Lehman junior high girls, Colleen O’Leary was second in the 200 in 30.75 and ran on the second-place 1600 relay team with Paola Vazquez, Madi Gleason and Liann Trahey.

Emma Kennedy was second in the shot put at 33-4.

Riverside’s Lauryn Sanford won the high jump. She cleared five feet even to set new meet and stadium records. She also took first in the 400 dash in 65.52.

Riverside’s Kale Long won the shot put at 44-1 and ran on the winning 1600 relay with John Zumberger, Ethan Jackson and Caleb Wright (4:09.59).
