PIQUA — A sports card and collectibles show will be held Oct. 10 and 11 at the Miami Valley Centre Mall in Piqua, it was announced recently.
The show will include two autograph sessions, one featuring former Reds pitcher Tom Browning.
On Saturday, Oct. 10, Travis Shaw of the Boston Red Sox will sign autographs from 1-to-2:30. Shaw, the son of former Cincinnati Reds pitcher Jeff Shaw, belted a three-run homer Wednesday night at Yankee Stadium to help the Red Sox win their sixth in a row, 9-5 in 11 innings.
Going into Thursday’s action, Shaw was hitting .276 with 13 homers and 36 runs batted in. He grew up in Washington Court House.
Then on Sunday, Browning, who is now the pitching coach for the Dayton Dragons, will sign autographs from 1-to-2:30. He is bringing along one of his players, Dragons pitcher Seth Varner, who was 7-4 this season with a 2.88 earned run average in 78 innings of work.
The card and collectibles show hours will be the same as the mall hours both days.
The first autographs are free, and each additional autograph is $5. There is a limit of three per person, but you can go back through the line for additional items at $5 each for as long as time permits.
