Lady Tigers make it 18 straight

JACKSON CENTER — The No. 2-ranked Jackson Center Lady Tigers moved closer to the County title Thursday night by winning their 18th match in a row by a 3-0 score, this one over Russia.

The scores were 25-11, 25-4, 25-16 and it put Jackson at 10-0 in the County. They can wrap up the championship outright Monday when second place Anna, 9-1, comes to town.

Russia is now 3-7 and 7-12.

Cassie Meyer led the way for Russia with 15 kills, seven digs and three aces, Pauline Meyer had five kills, four aces and seven digs, Kamryn Elchert served five aces and had 17 assists, and Camryn Hoehne had nine assists to go with 11 digs.

Jackson won the junior varsity game 2-1.

Fairlawn wins

3-1 over Botkins

SIDNEY — In the only other County game of the night, Fairlawn started off with an easy 25-8 win in the first game, but then the Lady Jets and the Botkins Lady Trojans played a close one, with the hosts eventually winning 3-1.

The scores after the first gamed were 29-27 Botkins, then 25-3, 25-20 for the Lady Jets.

Fairlawn is now 5-6 in the league and 13-6 overall, and Botkins is 0-10 and 5-15.

For Fairlawn, Chelsie Brautigam had 32 assists, 11 digs and two ace serves to lead the way.

Audrey Francis had 17 kills and 18 digs, and Paige Vondenheuvel had 11 kills and 11 digs. Mollie Roe added six kills and six digs.

For Botkins, Sami Vehorn had 13 kills, Jenna Pitts 32 digs and Blake Maurer 15 assists.

Fairlawn won the JV game 2-1.

Riverside wins 3-0

DEGRAFF — Riverside won 3-0 over Ridgemont in Northwest Central Conference play, the scores being 26-24, 25-12, 25-22.

Riverside, now 13-7, got 18 kills from sophomore Marissa Davis, five aces from Aubrey Stephens and three from Helena Faulder, 19 digs from Davis and 14 assists from Faulder. Alexis Snow added 11 assists.
