Cross country: Houston boys best area team at Anna Rocket Invitational

ANNA — Houston’s boys cross country team led local teams at the Anna Rocket Invitational on Saturday with a fifth-place finish.

The Wildcats’ top seven runners included Ethan Knouff, 11, 17:34.8; Tristin Freistuhler, 13, 17:40.1; Parker Cox, 34, 18:13.7; Dakota Francis, 43, 18:32.1; Jacob Slater, 52, 18:42.6; Blake Jacobs, 56, 18:45.4; and Patrick Meiring, 73, 19:05.8.

Botkins finished 11th.

Austin Fulenkamp led the Trojans at No. 9 with a time of 17:30.6. The rest of Botkins’ top seven included Alan Fullenkamp, 66, 18:56.3; Donovan Brown, 81, 19:14; Elliot Gouebeaux, 110, 19:41.8; RJ Poeppelman, 136, 20:17.4; Brock Rogers, 152, 20:34; and Ethan Aufderhaar, 161, 20:47.3.

Anna finished 12th.

The Rockets’ top seven included Jacob Robinson, 30, 18:09.5; Patrick Toller, 40, 18:27.7; Cameron Bowersock, 108, 19:40; Derek Arling, 114, 19:44.2; Preston Shannon, 124, 19:55.9; Jacob Osborne, 126, 19:59.9; and Jarod Moore, 134, 20:13.9.

Jackson Center was 13th.

The Tigers’ top seven included Parker Morris, 33, 18:12.3; Christopher Elchert, 53, 18:43.4; Aidan Reichert, 96, 19:30; Jeremy Burch, 127, 20:00.1; Grant Lowry, 139, 20:21.2; Elisha Burch, 188, 21:06.0; and Andrew Lampy, 189, 21:06.6.

Sidney was 15th.

Ian Bonifas led the Yellow Jackets at No. 32 with a time of 18:11.2. The rest of Sidney’s top seven included Gavin Bockrath, 49, 18:42.6; Aidan Tangeman, 66, 19:11.4; Spencer Karn, 123, 20:52.8; Ben Spangler, 136, 21:13.4; Patrick McClain, 137, 21:13.7; and Noah Townsend, 147, 21:40.6.

New Knoxville finished 23.

The Rangers’ top seven included Jonah Resor, 132, 21:02.2; Jared Osborne, 140, 21:15.9; Jakob Rollins, 152, 22:10.8; Zach Privette, 153, 22:21.2; Nathan Quigley, 156, 22:45.3; Jack Henry, 158; 23:43.8; and Josh Shroyer, 160, 24:18.8.

Lehman Catholic finished 24th.

The Cavaliers runners included Elias Bezy, 169, 20:53.2; Alex Vanderhorst, 174, 20:56.8; Scott Petersen, 280, 23:47.5; Aaron Topp, 293, 24:34.2; and Andrew Wiseman, 323, 33:43.3.

Botkins girls team had the best finish of all local teams at No. 10.

Brooklyn Flora was the fastest runner for the Trojans at No. 38 with a time of 22:26.1. The rest of Botkins’ runners included Kelsie Burmeister, 43, 22:52.2; Emma Koenig, 48, 22:53.9; Arica Jutte, 57, 23:20.6; Makenna Maurer, 61, 23:26.8; and Jill Greve, 66, 23:45.7.

Houston finished 11th.

The Wildcats’ top seven included Hollie Voisard, 7, 20:23.3; Morgan Ely, 22, 21:33.8; Danielle Stephenson, 49, 22:56.1; Addie White, 88, 24:22.6; Andrea Mantor, 154, 26:53.1; Kierstn Oberdorff, 167, 27:38.5; and April Stammen, 186, 29:32.1.

Sidney finished 15th.

The Yellow Jackets’ runners included Mariana Kellner, 37, 22:22.9; Naida Stephens, 90, 25:22.9; Mikayla Smedley, 100, 26:05.8; Camryn Smith, 101, 26:07.1; and Savannah Garber, 102, 26:07.5.

Anna finished 16th.

The Rockets’ runners included Gracen Rogers, 64, 23:38; Ashleigh Jurosic, 68, 23:50; Mackenzie Cole, 74, 24:20.9; Lilly Toller, 119, 28:33.5; Molly Batchelder, 122, 28:57.3; and Jada Rowland, 127, 30:12.8.

Lehman Catholic finished 18th.

The Cavaliers’ runners included Alanna O’Leary, 18, 21:14.9; Maggie Bezy, 118, 25:24.1; Theresa Flood, 149, 26:42.3; Mirian Bezy, 201, 31:02.5; Leah Peoples, 206, 32:17.9; and Caitlin Swallow, 209, 34:00.9.

Russia girls finish second at Ed Leas

Russia’s girls cross country team finished second behind Kings at the Ed Leas Fall Classic on Saturday in Eaton.

Russia’s top seven included Megan Frazier, 7, 20:31.35; Claire Meyer, 17, 21:26.33; Clare Caldwell, 30, 22:43.63; Emma DeLaet, 31, 23:05.76; Anna Fiessinger, 32, 23:05.94; Katelyn Monnin, 40, 23:55.05; and Becky Pinchot, 43, 24:08.87.

Russia’s boys team finished eighth.

Russia’s top seven included Zachary Bell, 18, 18:02.68; Gavin George, 54, 19:22.03; Nicholas Caldwell, 61, 19:38.01; Jonathan Bell, 65, 19:47.36; Ajay Seger, 87, 21:02.52; Henry Tumbusch, 99, 21:24.30; and Will Magoto, 117, 22:44.76.
