The County Junior High volleyball tournaments got underway Thursday at Jackson Center and Botkins.

7th grade

In the 7th grade tournament at Jackson, Russia defeated Houston 25-17, 25-15 in the first of three games.

Jackson Center then beat Botkins 25-23, 25-15, and Anna downed Fairlawn 25-13, 25-18.

The winners all advanced to this morning’s semifinals.

Fort Loramie takes on Russia at 10 a.m. today, followed by Jackson Center taking on Anna.

8th grade

The 8th grade tournament is being held at Botkins, and there were also three games Thursday.

No scores were available, but Anna defeated Botkins, Fort Loramie beat Russia and Houston downed Jackson Center.

The semifinals are this morning, with Anna playing Fairlawn at 10, and Fort Loramie playing Botkins immediately after.

The finals of both tournaments will be held at Botkins on Monday, with the 7th grade game beginning at 6 p.m.
