BROOKVILLE — As expected, top-seeded Anna had no trouble with Dayton Northridge in its first Division 3 sectional tournament game Saturday at Brookville.

The Lady Rockets won the match 25-4, 25-3, 25-6 to advance to the semifinals Tuesday at Brookville against Indian Lake.

Northridge had trouble handling Anna’s serves. Mackenzie Wells had eight aces, Paige Richard seven aces and Carly Becker five aces.

Wells and Richard had seven digs apiece to lead the team, and Kennedey Glover and Krista Gehret led with four kills each. Elizabeth Landis had 17 aces.

Division 4

TROY — Top-seeded Jackson Center had an even easier time in its first match of the D-4 tournament at Troy, beating Tri-County North 25-2, 25-6, 25-4.

The Lady Tigers will play Bradford next on Tuesday at Troy at 6 p.m.

• No. 11 seed Russia defeated No. 13 Newton in first-round action 25-22, 25-23, 25-19, and No. 9 seed Houston beat No. 12 Yellow Springs 27-25, 24-26, 25-11, 25-23.

Russia and Houston will meet in the semifinals on Tuesday at 7:30 at Troy.
