As expected, the top honors on the Northwest Central Conference all-league volleyball team went to members of the Lehman Lady Cavaliers, who won the conference title for the third year in a row and have still never lost a league match.
Head coach Greg Snipes was named the NWCC Coach of the Year and junior standout Sidney Chapman, the area’s kills leader, was named the Player of the Year.
Chapman goes into tournament play with 419 kills on the season, and just recently went over 1,000 kills for her career with still another year to play. She also has 274 digs and 49 ace serves this season. She is joined on the first team by Madeline Smith and Madison Hussey, while teammate Marianne Hissong was named to the second team.
Smith is the area leader in assists with 714, and Hussey leads Lehman in digs with 322. Hissong has 104 kills on the season and 36 aces, and also leads the team in solo blocks with 18.
Riverside’s sophomore standout Marissa Davis was also named to the first team. She currently has 316 kills, 301 digs and 50 ace serves, all tops on the team.
Senior teammate Lauryn Davis was named to the second team. She has 118 kills and 28 ace serves, and also leads the team in solo and total blocks.
