CENTERVILLE — Sidney’s girls bowling team’s season ended in the Division I sectional meet at Poelking South on Thursday.

The top nine teams went on to districts. Sidney’s three team games were a 634, 782, 722 for a 2,138. The Yellow Jackets had a 991 in their baker games for a 3,129 grand total, good for 13th place on the day.

Jenna Beatty qualified to districts as an individual as she rolled a 616 series.

“After we lost four seniors from last years team, and only returning two girls with any varsity experience, I didn’t know what to expect,” Sidney coach Trent Knoop said. “But, the improvement from the beginning of the season to now has been very positive.

“I’m very happy with how they have progressed this season. We ended up with a winning record in the GWOC, which is very good. I think the girls should be happy with what they did this season. Hopefully they stay committed to getting better, and use this offseason to get even better. I’m very proud of them this season.”
