Staff report

High school football games move to neutral sites this week for regional semifinal games, and Sidney Memorial Stadium will host small-school games both Friday and Saturday nights.

On Friday night at 7:30, 9-2 Minster will take on 10-1 Riverside at Sidney in Division 7 action, and on Saturday at 7 p.m., it will be the Division 6 regional semifinal with 11-0 Mechanicsburg taking on 10-1 Delphos Jefferson.

It marks the first time that the 11-year-old stadium has hosted two playoff games in one weekend. It has also been the site of tournament soccer the past two seasons.

Interestingly, Jefferson has played a playoff game in Sidney before, but the first time was at Julia Lamb Stadium against Springfield Catholic years ago.

The Lehman Cavaliers, meanwhile, will play Friday night in D-7 action at Lima Spartan Stadium against 9-2 Fort Recovery.

Nearby, Piqua will host the D-5 playoff game Friday between Coldwater and Cincinnati Hills Christian Academy at 7:30, and Wapakoneta will host the D-6 game Saturday at 7 between Marion Local and West Liberty-Salem.

The D-4 semifinal between Columbus Hartley and Ottawa-Glandorf will be played Saturday at Bellefontaine at 7 p.m.
