SIDNEY – Yellow Jacket Academia took home second place at Kenyon College Tournament recently. The team went 9-2, only losing to Solon High School, the nation’s number one ranked team, twice 220-560 and 315-500. Members of the team are Andrew Mitchell, Anthony Mitchell, NourEddine Hijazi and Aaron Jensen.

The Jackets dominated the other nine matches, including strong teams like Olentangy Liberty 440-270 and Olmsted Falls 425-250. The tournament format was 20 tossup questions worth 10 to 15 points with bonus questions for correct tossup answers worth up to 30 additional points.

The Yellow Jackets are now 18-2 in tournament play. On Nov. 7, Sidney Academia traveled to Tippecanoe High School for the Tippecanoe Academic Challenge where a strong field was led by nationally ranked Solon (1), Detroit Central Catholic (20) Dublin Scioto (22).
