Search warrant nets illegal drugs

SIDNEY — The Sidney Police Department recovered a large amount of “suspected meth, marijuana, syringes and drug paraphernalia,” at 602 Monroe St., Friday, Oct. 19, according to a press release from the department.

At approximately 7:30 a.m., officers and investigators executed a narcotics search warrant, which resulted in the arrest of Chasity R. Harness, 37, who resides in the home.

Harness has been charged with one count of trafficking in drugs, a felony of the second degree. She was incarcerated at the Shelby County Jail.

According to the release, this warrant execution is a continuing effort by the Sidney Police Department to combat drug abuse and drug trafficking in Sidney.

Information resulting in this warrant was derived, in part, from concerned citizens. All citizens are asked to contact the Sidney Police Department at 498-8777, or Crime Stoppers at 492-8477 (TIPS) if they have any information about drug activity.
