SIDNEY — Sidney Police are still looking for a suspect who was the subject of a Sidney-Shelby County Crime Stoppers alert last week.

Freddy L. “JR” Buss Jr. has multiple warrants for his arrest. He is believed to be in the Sidney area. He has a history of drug trafficking, theft and resisting arrest. He is a white male, 5 feet, 8 inches tall, weighing approximately 150 pounds, with brown hair and blue eyes.

Police Chief Will Balling said police went to an area in Sidney Sunday night on a report that Buss was there. “We are still looking for him,” Balling said Tuesday.

A resident told the Sidney Daily News that officers were searching in the area of Port Jefferson Road and Broadway Avenue Sunday.

Anyone with information about the suspect is asked to contact Crime Stoppers at 937-498-TIPS (8477). Sidney-Shelby County Crime Stoppers is offering a reward up to $500 for information leading to the arrest of Buss. Callers may remain anonymous.

The funds used for Crime Stoppers’ rewards are raised through donations and Municipal Court fines. Tax dollars are not used to pay rewards.
