SIDNEY — Lehman Catholic High School will hold its graduation ceremony on Sunday, May 28, 2017, at 2 p.m. in the Schlater Family Gymnasium. Admission to the graduation is by ticket only and each senior has been given 10 tickets for the ceremony. If students need additional tickets, they can be picked up in the front office.
Valedictorian of the Class of 2017 is Jacob Schmiesing, who is the son of Greg and Chrissy Schmiesing, of Sidney. He plans to attend Franciscan University in Steubenville and major in finance or chemistry.
Salutatorian of the Class of 2017 is Will Hoersten, son of Patrick and Jennifer Hoersten, of Sidney. He plans to attend Miami University and major in mechanical engineering.
The class colors are white and gold. The class motto is “Family is not just a word. It’s who you are, where you came from, and where you will always belong.” The class song is “Don’t Stop Believing” by Journey.
The Senior Awards Assembly will take place in the Schlater Family Gymnasium on Friday, May 26, at 8:30 a.m. During the assembly, all seniors receiving awards and scholarships will be recognized. All parents, grandparents, friends and relatives of seniors are invited to attend the assembly.
The Baccalaureate Mass will be celebrated at St. Boniface Church in Piqua on Friday evening, May 26, beginning at 7 p.m. with the prelude, and Mass will begin at 7:30 p.m. Everyone is asked to be seated by 7 p.m. Seniors and faculty will have reserved seating. Parents, grandparents and friends are encouraged to attend and arrive early to get a seat.
