Police seek robber who hurt woman

SIDNEY — Police are looking for a man who while driving a pickup truck, grabbed a woman’s purse in a grocery store parking lot Wednesday, dragging the woman and injuring her.

Sidney Police were called to Sidney Food Town, 1010 Wapakoneta Ave., about 3:25 p.m. on a report of a robbery. Officers found an elderly woman with significant injuries to her arms from the incident, detective Sgt. Rob Jameson said in a news release. The victim said she was walking to her car when a white Chevrolet S-10 pickup truck pulled alongside her, the driver grabbed her purse, and drove away. The woman, who was listed in a police incident report as being 86 years old, was dragged a short distance by the truck.

The truck left the parking lot eastbound. A witness described the driver as a white male with a moustache and beard. He was wearing a ball hat and sunglasses.
