DAYTON — Representatives from the University of Dayton Center for Leadership, Dayton Development Coalition and Victoria Theatre Association have partnered to present the upcoming UD Center for Leadership Speaker Series.

The inaugural series features three distinguished authors and thought leaders who inspire shared thinking and encourage life-long learning, collaboration, inclusiveness and innovation. The speakers will appear at the Victoria Theatre.

Cy Wakeman will open the series, Oct. 17, with “Reality Based Leadership: How Leaders Can Cut the Cost of Drama, End Entitlement & Drive Big Results.” A global keynote speaker and New York Times best-selling author, Wakeman has spent more than 20 years cultivating a revolutionary approach to leadership and work. A former leader in the health care field, Wakeman was named one of the Top 30 Global Leadership Professionals by Global Gurus and a Top 100 Leadership Expert to follow on Twitter. Her latest book, “No Ego: How Leaders Can Cut the Cost of Workplace Drama, End Entitlement and Drive Results,” debuts in September.

Tim Sanders will address the topic, “Genius is a Team Sport: Unleashing the Power of Innovation and Collaboration,” Feb. 6. Sanders was a member of Mark Cuban and Todd Wagner’s broadcast.com team, which had the largest opening day IPO in history. After Yahoo! acquired the company, Sanders created and led its “ValueLab,” a group dedicated to providing insight into Yahoo!’s customers, which enabled the close of hundreds of millions of dollars of new business through rapid collaboration. He later became the company’s chief solutions officer and then leadership coach. He is best known as the author of five books, including his best-selling books, “Love Is the Killer App” and “The Likeability Factor.” He has been featured in Fast Company, USA Today, NY Times, on CNN and more.

The series will close, April 11, when Jon Gordon presents “The Energy Bus: 10 Rules to Fuel Your Life, Work and Team with Positive Energy.” Gordon has worked with Fortune 500 companies, sports teams, schools, hospitals and nonprofits, including the Los Angeles Dodgers, Atlanta Falcons, Miami Heat, Georgia Bulldogs, Campbell Soup, Wells Fargo, Southwest Airlines, U.S. Military Academy at West Point and more. He is the author of 17 books, including five best-sellers: “The Energy Bus,” “The Carpenter,” “Training Camp,” “You Win in the Locker Room First” and “The Power of Positive Leadership.”
