SIDNEY — To celebrate its fifth anniversary as an organization, the Shelby County Animal Rescue Foundation (SCARF) has announced a discount on pet adoption fees.

During July, every approved adoption at the Shelby County Animal Shelter will have the adoption fee reduced by $5.

SCARF initiatives, including Cans for Canines, a recyling project, and Dimes for Dogs and Cats banks, raise money to cover veterinary care of animals at the shelter.

SCARF recently updated the status of its ongoing capital drive to fund the construction of the new Bob Sargeant & Family Shelby County Animal Shelter and Adoption Center.
