MINSTER — The Minster Civic Association has arranged an Open House in the former Hanover Street school building.

The building was dedicated as a high school on Jan. 1 1932. It was last used by the Minster School System as an elementary school in 2011. The building was purchased recently by local investors, including Current Medical Services and Midnet Media.

Kelly Custer, a 1997 graduate of Minster High School, will be representing Current Medical Services. Curt Albers, a 1997 graduate of Minster High School, will be representing Midnet Media, which has already moved its business into the building.

The former school is over 40,000 square feet and the investors hope to renovate it into commercial office space with a potential restaurant moving into the old cafeteria. There are roughly 22 rooms that can be converted into commercial office or storage space.

The Open House is for Civic Association members and non-members alike. They want to open this meeting up to the public to give everyone a chance to walk through this historic building one more time and hear about the rich history of the school as well as the future expansion plans.

A tour, followed with dinner and the monthly civic member meeting will be held Tuesday, March 29 at 6 p.m. The 5th Street entrance will be used.

Please RSVP by e-mailing [email protected] or calling 419-305-3732.
