Finding satisfaction with Jesus

Satisfied?

Are you satisfied with Jesus? Do you fill your life with so much of him that you don’t have to look to the world for anything?

When we feel hungry the world has lots of food. When we feel bored the world has movies, games, etc. to fill our time.

Can you just sit in the quiet of your home and enjoy the calm or do you have to be doing something or talking to someone?

It’s in that quiet that God will speak to us. Does He never speak in the noise? I would say He does but so often we don’t take time to listen and focus on Him when it is loud or noisy around us.

When we are satisfied with Jesus we can enjoy the quiet time. When we are satisfied with Jesus we will be able to stand whatever comes.

When we are satisfied with Jesus we are full of His peace and joy. We won’t be derailed by every little problem that comes our way. “Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.” John 14:27 (KJV)

When we are satisfied with Jesus we will stay calm and loving even when the people we love the most break our heart, we will stand in faith when facing our giant as David did.

When we are satisfied with Jesus we will keep our peace even at the time of persecution as Stephen did. “And they stoned Stephen, calling upon God, and saying, Lord Jesus, receive my spirit. And he kneeled down, and cried with a loud voice, Lord, lay not this sin to their charge. And when he had said this, he fell asleep.” Acts 7:59-60 (KJV)

Without being full or satisfied with Jesus, every time a trial comes our way we are going to fall apart and fall into despair. Blaming everyone we can think of for our problem.

Without being full or satisfied with Jesus every time there is a bump in the road we will be thrown off course and look to everyone else to help us instead of our Lord.

As Paul told us in Philippians, it is important to be content in our life, but we should never be content and settle for a mediocre relationship with Jesus.

We should spend as much time as we can worshipping God. We need to pray, read and spend time magnifying God in our life.

I recently read “It’s more important to read and meditate on one verse than to read 100 verses.”

We read and meditate on God’s Word so that we can see it coming alive in our life. Andrew Wommack teaches that if we see it happening in our imagination we will build our faith and it will happen.

When we are kids we can see ourselves as adults either working at something we love or as a parent of a beautiful child. As a child of God when we meditate on His Word we need to see it happening in our life.

Do you see yourself praying for the dead and them coming back to life? Do you see yourself praying for the blind and them being able to see? Do you see yourself kneeling and worshipping at the feet of Jesus? If you never see yourself doing it you will probably never do it.

Have you satisfied your heart with so much of Jesus that when the storms hit you won’t be blown away?

Being satisfied with Jesus is a choice we make. We have to choose every day to spend time with Him. We have to choose to put Him first among everything else in our life. “But if you refuse to serve the Lord, then choose today whom you will serve. Would you prefer the gods your ancestors served beyond the Euphrates? Or will it be the gods of the Amorites in whose land you now live? But as for me and my family, we will serve the Lord.” Josh 24:15 (NLT)

We make the choice. God is always there. God always desires to spend time with us.

God made His choice when He created us. He confirmed His choice when He sent Jesus to die and rise again for us. What more do we need to know that He has chosen us? That He wants to spend time and commune with us?

What is your choice? Do you desire to be full and satisfied with Jesus or do you want to continue looking to the world to satisfy all you need?

Time is running out. Make wise choices.

God bless you.
