Sidney pitchers were roughed up for 12 hits in a 13-2 loss to Chaminade-Julienne in non-league baseball action Tuesday afternoon at the high school.

The verdict left the Jackets at 1-3 on the season.

Chaminade scored twice in the first and three times in the second, but it was just a 6-2 score after five innings. However, the Eagles plated five in the sixth and two in the seventh to make it lopsided.

The Yellow Jackets managed just three hits off Chaminade pitcher Mark Barhorst, who went the distance, with three strikeouts.

Conor Beer had a double for Sidney.

The Jackets return to action Monday at home against Vandalia.

Lehman 9, Perry 3

LIMA — The Lehman Cavaliers scored early and often on their way to a 9-3 victory over Lima Perry in Northwest Central Conference action Tuesday on the road.

The win gave the Cavs a 1-0 record both in the league and overall, and the two teams will meet again Thursday, this time at Lehman.

The Cavs jumped out to a 7-0 lead with two in the first, three in the second and two in the third before Perry got on the board.

Parker Riley scattered eight hits and struck out nine Commodores to get the win for the Cavs.

Nate Bosway got the Cavs off to a good start when he belted a two-run homer to right-center in the top of the first.

Jared Magoteaux singled and doubled, and both Riley and Stephen Monnin also drove in two runs.

Coldwater 4, Loramie 3

COLDWATER — For the second time in as many years, Fort Loramie lost a tough one-run decision to the always-strong Coldwater Cavaliers in non-league baseball action Tuesday.

The Redskins drop to 1-1 with the 4-3 loss. Coldwater is always 1-1.

Fort Loramie got a pair of runs in the top of the second but Coldwater knotted the score in the bottom of the inning. Loramie took the lead in the top of the fourth, but the Cavaliers got two in the sixth to go up 4-3. They made it stand up.

“That’s the second year in a row we’ve lost to them by one, and we had our chances to win both those games,” said Loramie head coach Bill Sturwold.

Blake Gaier had two of Loramie’s three hits.

Riverside 13, Ridgemont 1

RIDGEWAY — The Riverside Pirates rolled to an easy win in NWCC play Tuesday, routing Ridgemont on the road 13-1.

The Pirates, 2-1 on the year and 1-0 in the league, had 14 hits in the game. Five players had two hits each, including Caleb Stevens, Dakota Bollinger, Connor Cotterman, Trey Lane and Seth Barhorst.

Cotterman and Tyler Sanford both drove in three runs and Bollinger two. Cotterman scored three times and Landon Kelsey and Bollinger two each.

Stevens and Cotterman both doubled.
