SIDNEY — Sidney’s girls soccer team wrapped up regular-season play with a 7-0 win over Greenville on Wednesday. Elaine Wiesenmayer scored four goals and had three assists in the win.

Wiesenmayer, a junior, led all Greater Western Ohio Conference players in goals (33) and assists (22) this season. Khia McMillen, a freshman, was second in assists (19) and 11th in goals (14).

McMillen had one goal and one assist on Wednesday against Greenville, while Baily Sherman and MaKayla Dillinger had one goal each. Kayli Smith added two assists for the Yellow Jackets, which finished 12-2-2 overall.

Sidney finished tied for second in the GWOC American North Division with Tippecanoe. Both schools finished with 8-1-1 records. Troy won the North with a 9-1 divisional record.

The Yellow Jackets are the fifth seed in the Dayton Division I sectional and will open tournament play on Oct. 19 in Sidney against No. 8 Tecumseh. The Arrows (11-3-2) finished third in the Central Buckeye Conference Kenton Trail Division with a 5-2-2 record.

If Sidney wins its first-round game, a rematch against Troy in the sectional finals is possible. The Trojans, who beat Sidney 1-0 on Sept. 20, are the fourth seed in the sectional and will face the winner of No. 6 Northmont and No. 7 Fairmont in a second-round game on Oct. 19. The sectional final will take place on Oct. 23 at Springfield High School.
