PIQUA – The Paul G. Duke Academy for Community Leadership and the Center for Leadership Development at Edison State Community College will host the Mosaic of Community Leadership Conference from 7:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. May 19 via Zoom video conferencing.

The annual conference brings together executive directors, board members, staff and volunteers to explore in-depth topics related to nonprofit management and leadership.

The event will feature a keynote address provided by Joel Kessel, principal of Kessel Strategies. Kessel helps nonprofits increase their impact through executive coaching, strategic planning and team leadership development.

For more than 25 years, Kessel has been advising, training and guiding growth-minded nonprofit organizations and for-profit leaders and entrepreneurial-minded business owners to think more strategically and communicate more effectively so they can impact the people they lead.

Kessel has worked with hundreds of industry leaders ranging from national nonprofits, manufacturing and health care, to technology and book publishing companies. As a trusted adviser, he serves as a private sounding board, expert strategist, someone with a fresh perspective, and a few have even called him “The calm in the center of our storm.”

Kessel began his career in Chicago, working in small and large agencies and serving national nonprofit brands such as Ronald McDonald House Charities, National MS Society and the National Runaway Safeline. That foundation has led him to help nonprofit executives and business leaders discover their vision, define their strategic direction, design their actions and deliver results that impact them, their people and enable them to serve clients with excellence.

The half-day conference also will feature breakout education sessions led by nonprofit professionals. Breakout sessions will focus on a series of topics dedicated to strengthening nonprofit organizations, including financial scorecard, board organization, grant training, strategic planning, stewardship, social media, nuts and bolts of not-for-profit organizations, operational efficiency, mission matrix and fundraising post-pandemic.

The annual conference is made possible through the continued support and generosity of The Paul G. Duke Foundation.

Event registration is open now. The cost to attend the event is $49 per person. To learn more or register to attend, visit www.edisonstatedukeacl.org/mosaic.
