Lees celebrate ruby year

RUSSEL’S POINT — Kathryn and Thomas Lee, of Russell’s Point, will be celebrate their 40th wedding anniversary, Sunday, June 24, 2018, at a family party and with a trip in July to North Carolina.

Thomas and the former Kathryn Steenrod were married, June 24, 1978, in the St John’s Lutheran Church in Sidney. The Rev. G. Karl Gaston performed the ceremony on a beautiful, sunny day. Witnesses were maid of honor Louanne (Steenrod) Hines, sister of the bride, bridesmaid Deanna (Wildermuth) Apgar, best man Kurt Helsinger, ushers James Wagner and Thomas Reithman, organist Mary Jane Wildermuth and guest book attendant Joyce Smith.

Thomas is the son of the late George Lee and the late Joan Lee Settlage.

Kathryn is the daughter of Diane Steenrod, of Sidney, and the late Louis Steenrod.

The Lees have two sons and a daughter-in-law, Steven and Stephanie Lee, of Cleveland, and Timothy Lee, of Indiana. They have two grandsons.

Kathy graduated from Sidney High School in 1973. She graduated from the Ohio State Beauty Academy in Lima. She worked in Columbus as a hairdresser for one year. She also worked at Holloway Sportswear and Amos Press Inc.

Tom is a 1968 graduate of Graham High School in St. Paris. He attended Clark State College in Springfield, served in U.S. Army and saw service in the Vietnam War and was in the Army Reserves from 1984 to 2002. He worked at Monarch Machine and HBD Thermoid in Bellefontaine, retiring in 2016, as an electrician.

They enjoy traveling, spending time with their family and sharing luncheons and trips with the Vietnam Veterans group.
