SIDNEY — Chris and Bob Short, of Sidney, celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary, Wednesday, Nov. 7, 2018.

Bob and the former Chris Besecker were married Nov. 7, 1958, in the Bradford United Methodist Church in Bradford. The Rev. Hickerson performed the ceremony on a chilly, fall day. Witnesses were best man Ronald Short, brother of the bridegroom, bridesmaids Pat Besecker and Barb Besecker, both sisters-in-law of the bride, flower girl Cathy (Sirch) Popp, cousin of the bride, and ring bearer Scott Besecker, brother of the bride. After the ceremony, the couple opened gifts in the church basement, and a meal was then served in the home of the bride’s parents. The couple had met through a mutual friend at the Bradford Pumpkin Show.

Bob is the son of the late Martha (Potts) and Harold Short. He has a sister-in-law, Marlene Short, of Troy. His brother, Ronald, is deceased.

Chris is the daughter of the late Retha (Gray) and Carl Besecker. She has three brothers and sisters-in-law, Jack and Pat Besecker and Jerry and Barb Besecker, all of Covington, and Scott and Pat Besecker, of Bradford.

The Shorts have a son, Vance Short, and a daughter and son-in-law, Rhonda and Rob Quinter. They have nine grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Bob retired from Regal Plumbing & Heating in 2006. Chris is a homemaker.

They enjoy spending time with family, attending their grandchildren’s sporting events, traveling and going to the casino.
