Couple marks 35 years

MAPLEWOOD — Joyce and Chet Hughes, of Maplewood, celebrated their 35th wedding anniversary, Feb. 17, 2016.

Chet and the former Joyce Noggler were married Feb. 17, 1981, in Greenville. It was a rainy day. Witnessing their vows was Pam Mosier. The couple had met at Chet’s Corner in New Weston.

Chet is the son of Patsy and Chester Hughes, of Sidney. He has two brothers, Darrell Hughes and Fred Hughes, and three sisters, Gail Case, Pam Mosier and Sandra Tidd, all of Sidney.

Joyce is the daughter of the late Emma and Eugene Noggler. She has seven brothers, Lee Noggler, Gene Noggler, Ron Noggler, Dana Noggler, Max Noggler, Vaughn Noggler and Mark Noggler, all of Fort Recovery, and six sisters, Donna Pitman, of Portland, Indiana, Marilyn Wycuff, of Celina, Rita Evans, of Salamonie Lake, Indiana, Colleen Lairson, of Middlebury, Indiana, Vera Hart, of Fort Recovery, and Anita Hughes, of Sidney.

The Hugheses have a son, Chester Alan Hughes Jr., of Piqua, and a daughter, Julie Lewis, of Sidney.

Joyce is a homemaker. Chet is employed by Ply Gem.

The couple enjoy camping, hunting, fishing and spending time with their grandchildren.
