Davidsons celebrate 60 years

PEMBERTON — Janice and Ralph “Bunny” Davidson, of Pemberton, will celebrate their 60th wedding anniversary at a family meal hosted by their children and grandchildren.

Ralph and the former Janice Dowden were married March 3, 1956, in the parsonage of Pemberton Methodist Church in New Hampshire, Ohio, by the Rev. Oliver. It was a sunny day with beautiful weather. Witnesses were MaryJane Rose, sister of the bridegroom, and Bob Clay. The couple had been introduced to each other by the bridegroom’s sister.

Ralph is the son of the late Clarence and Edith Davidson. He has a brother, Charles Davidson, of Sidney, and three living sisters, Lillian Cook, Opal Shortenridge, and Judy Jackson, all of Sidney. Two other sisters, June Meyers and MaryJane Rose, are deceased.

Janice is the daughter of the late Oscar and Lillie Dowden. She has two sisters, Vera Piper and Clairce Pence, both of Sidney.

The Davidsons have two sons and daughters-in-law, Bruce and Gloria Davidson, and Mark and Ginger Davidson, all of Sidney, and a daughter and son-in-law, Kelly and Alan Michael, of Anna. They have seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

Ralph retired from Alcoa in 1997. Janice retired from Fairlawn Local Schools in 1997 as food service director.

They attend Pemberton Methodist Church. They enjoy playing cards, feeding birds, attending their grandchildren’s activities and working in the Pemberton Methodist Church.
