Couple celebrates golden year

SIDNEY — Kathie and David Fields, of Sidney, will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary at a reception for family and friends in the Mosse Lodge in Sidney, Aug. 27, 2016.

David and the former Kathie Mowrer were married Aug. 27, 1966, in the Linden Church of Christ in Columbus. Witnesses were matron of honor Linda Weinsteger, best man Tom Ruttan, bridesmaid Sharon Airhart, flower girl Sheri Mowrer, and ushers Steve Mowrer and Ken Burkhart. The couple met on a blind date for a hayride.

David is the son of Virginia Fields, of Sidney, and the late Chalmer Fields.

Kathie is the daughter of the late Phyllis and Arden Mowrer. She has a sister, Linda Weinsteger, of Westerville, and a brother and sister-in-law, Steve and Dolly Mowrer, of Lewis Center.

The Fields have a son and daughter-in-law, Jeff and Christine Fields, of Cumming, Georgia, and a daughter and son-in-law, Julie and Bill Huelskamp, of Sidney. They have six grandchildren.

David retired as a dentist in 2004. Kathie retired as a teacher from Bridgeview School in 2004.

They are members of the St. John’s Lutheran Church in Sidney.
