Anna’s Angels to host Dance-a-thon

SIDNEY — Anna’s Angels is holding a Charity Dance-a-thon on Saturday, Nov. 17, from 6 to 8 p.m., at Holy Angels School gymnasium in Sidney. The event will support both the Arthritis Foundation and the Spondylitis Association of America.

Anna Neu is a local 9-year-old who suffers from Ankylosing Spondylitis. She is thankful to the Anna’s Angels organization that spearheads the fundraising events. She asked to celebrate her 10th birthday with a dance party for all local kids to raise funds for the organizations that help support her and her family as they fight this disease that causes pain and deformities in her joints and tendons.

The Dance-a-thon is open to all children, grades kindergarten through eighth. There is no need to know Anna personally, as this is a community fundraiser. Parents are welcome to stay, but there will be plenty of supervision if parents want a night out or need to go do some Christmas shopping.

The night will include dancing, games, activities, concessions (there will be small charge for concession items to benefit the Spondylitis Association of America), photo booth, temporary tattoos, and more.

In addition, there will be a raffle for prizes too! For every $5 raised and turned in at the door of the event, kids will get a raffle ticket to put in buckets next to the prize they are hoping to win. Prizes include but are not limited to, sports equipment, Barbies, action figures, slime-making supplies, Nerf guns, coloring supplies, Wellie Wishers doll, gift cards and much more.

For fundraising pledge sheets, visit https://emalli.wixsite.com/annasangels/fundraising-events or the event’s Facebook page. For those who do not wish to fundraise, there is a $15 charge at the door.
