Ellis arraigned on six felony counts

SIDNEY — The Troy man arrested May 24 for allegedly shooting at a Sidney business and fleeing the scene entered a plea of not guilty in Shelby County Common Pleas Court on Tuesday and was released on a continued bond.

Judge James Stevenson presided over the arraignment hearings on several individuals facing criminal charges.

Bradley Ellis, 23, of Troy, entered a plea of not guilty on two counts of improper handling of a firearm on a motor vehicle, and one count each of carrying a concealed weapon, tampering with evidence, possession of drugs, aggravated possession of drugs, aggravated menacing and criminal damaging or endangering.

His lawyer notified the court that Ellis did not have a previous criminal history and that he has recently moved to Dayton. He was released on a continued $15,000 bond.

In other arraignments:

• David D. Goff, 43, Pemberton, pleaded not guilty on possession of drugs and possessing criminal tools. He released on a $5,000 bond from another pending case, after being arrested when he went to sign for his bond.

• Curtis Crisman, 36, 2009 Michigan Ave., Room 330, pleaded not guilty to one count of possession of drugs. He was released on a continued $25,000 bond.

• Travis Pike, 38, 826 Spruce Ave., pleaded not guilty to one count of domestic violence. He was released on his own recognizance with a no contact and seclusion order in light of his sentencing on Monday to 17 months in jail for a different offense.

• Tara Wilson, 27, 434 1/2 Miami Ave., pleaded not guilty to one count possession of drugs and one count of possessing criminal tools. Bond was was set at $2,500.

• Rocky Leon Stone, 36, 225 Queen St., pleaded not guilty to one felony count of possession of drugs, one count of possessing criminal tools and one misdemeanor count of possession of drugs. He has sought treatment through Access Dayton since his overdose in April and has successfully passed eight drug screenings. He was released on his own recognizance on the condition that he continues treatment and drug screenings.

• Lance Shewalter, 32, address unknown, pleaded not guilty to one count of robbery and one count of possessing criminal tools. A reduced bond of $10,000 was set.

• Peter Stokes, 24, at large, pleaded not guilty to one count of failure to provide change of address. A bond of $2,500 was set on the condition that he reside with his aunt at all times.

• Kandice Hall, 21, 107 S. Wilkinson, B, entered a plea of not guilty for one count of endangering children. She was released on her own recognizance and a no contact order with the victim was issued.

• Brandy N. Lesley, 25, 5886 State Route 29, entered a plea of not guilty for one count of illegal use of supplemental nutrition or WIC program benefits. She was released on her own recognizance.

• Eric Root, 37, 528 1/2 N. Miami Ave., entered a plea of not guilty for one count of vandalism. He was released on his own recognizance in light of a pending $10,000 bond in a separate case.

• John McMaken, 55, 528 1/2 N. Miami Ave., entered a plea of not guilty for one count of possession of drugs. He was released on his own recognizance and granted an extension until June 23 for payment of the filing fee.

• Brandon M. Yantis, 30, 1620 Cypress Place, entered a plea of not guilty for one count of failure to provide change of address. His bond of $5,000 was continued and he was advised that until he engages the service of an attorney he is required to check in with the court and advise them on status of his attorney.
