MINSTER — The Minster Civic Association held a membership meeting on August 29, 2017. We first met at the Minster High School building. We were informed as to the plans for renovation of the high school building over the next 2 years. Brenda Boeke, Minster Local Schools superintendent, addressed the Minster Civic Association during its membership meeting, Aug. 29.

The association convened at the school for a tour. Boeke spoke about plans to renovate the school. The office and library will exchange places in the building. Brad Garmann of Garmann & Miller then spoke about the timeline. Brian Wolfe and Becky Baumer provided more detail as to the plans and timeline. They explained most of the renovations will be to the mechanical aspects of the structure. Garmann & Miller will seek input from the teachers and staff of the school, as well as the students.

Following the presentation, the association reconvened in the Wooden Shoe for dinner and a report on the activities of the Civic Association board. The membership heard from the new Minster High School Principal, Jason Spencer and heard reports on the results of the summer golf outing and the Minster Historical Society walk.

The association voted to purchase a message board for the high school community room.

The next meeting of the Minster Civic Association will be Sept. 26.
