Russia Homecoming names contest winners

RUSSIA — Russia Homecoming officials have announced the following winners of various contests during the recent festival:

Matt Shappie won $1,182 and Jacob Pleiman, $1,870 in 50/50 drawings. Charlie Grogean won the Texas Hold ‘em tournament.

Fairlawn Local Schools won the volleyball tournament. Winners in dodgeball were as follows: 18 and over: Monnin Group: Jordan Monnin, Isaiah Monnin, Zack Monnin, Matt Hoying, Colin Puthoff and Kurt Hobbs; 14-17: First Behind Minster: Brandon Koverman, Dion Puthoff, Daril Lavy, Carter Stueve, Hunter Cohee, Jack Dapore; 13 and under: Big Ballers: Ben Bohman, Jordan Meyer, Ross Fiessinger, Zane Shappie, Xavier Phlipot, Hayden Quinter.

Corn hole tournament: adult: Travis Jess and Ray Monnin, first; Colin Puthoff and Chet Borchers, second; Mike Sullenberger and Eric Shaw, third; high school: Jack Dapore and Dion Puthoff, first; Daril Lavy and Hunter Cohee, second; Evan Monnier and Alyssa Kemp, third.

Running Raider 5K: female: Katie Borchers, of Russia, first; Ana Adams, of Sidney, second; Kayla Francis, of Russia, third; male: Alan Holdheide, of Fort Loramie, first; Drew Barhorst, of Hilliard, second; Gavin George, of Russia, third.

Josefina Schulze, daughter of Tracy and Brian Schulze, was named cutest baby.

Makenna and Saige Hoying took first place in the lip sync contest. Hanna, Lucy and Gwendolyn Schneible were second. Peyton, Parker and Charlotte Deutsch were third.
