GAC to present children’s musical

SIDNEY — Gateway Arts Counicl will present “Santa’s Christmas Miracle,” a holiday musical for children and their families, Dec.10, at 7 p.m., in the Cameo Theatre, 304 S. West Ave.

Tickets cost $6 for adults, $4 for children. They are available at Ron & Nita’s on the sqaure in downtown Sidney, at the arts council gallery, 216 N. Miami Ave., by phone at 498-2787 and at the door.

This charming musical comedy takes place, Dec. 24, 1883, in Broken-Bone, Montana, where the sheriff has outlawed Christmas. It is up to a mysterious stranger and a bungling bandit named Big Bad Bart to unravel the plot and bring the true meaning of the season back into focus. This story emphasizes love and the holiday spirit to the accompaniment of foot-stompin’, country-and-western music.

The production is by Virginia Repertory Theatre, who, for more than 60 years, has served adults, children, families and schools.

From 6:15 to 6:45 p.m., young ticket-holders can make a holiday craft. The craft is free and open to all children attending the performance. The arts council will supply the materials.
