TROY — The Troy-Hayner Cultural Center, 301 W. Main St., Troy, has opened registrations for Let’s Paint Troy, Ohio!, a Sandra Strohschein Watercolor Workshop, scheduled for Nov. 7 and 8, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Strohschein is an award-winning watercolor artist from Michigan. The Art of Watercolour magazine, which is published in France and the United States, introduced her as a “Revelation” in its March 2015 issue. Strohschein travels to Italy and Bulgaria on an annual basis to teach and exhibit. She was also featured in the February/March 2014 edition of En Plein Aire, an online magazine. The artist has painted outdoors across the United States, as well as in Canada, Bulgaria, Italy and Spain. She holds membership in the Holland Area Arts Council, Holland Area Friends of Art, the American Watercolor Society, the American Impressionist Society and the National Watercolor Society.

This studio workshop is for intermediate- to advanced-level watercolor students. Strohschein will work from photo references during four separate demonstrations. She works in a fast, loose, direct style that enables her to complete a painting in one hour. Participants will then have two hours to paint and ask questions. In this course, Strohschein will paint landscapes, seascapes and florals.

The fee for the workshop is $175. Students should email the artist at [email protected] to register for the workshop.
