SIDNEY — John Eikenberry, president of Eikenberry Retirement Planning, and certified financial planner Nick Boeckman presented details to the Sidney Kiwanis Club recently about the firm’s sponsorship of the upcoming West Central Financial Summit in Sidney

The summit, titled 2017 Game Plan for Financial Success, will be April 27, in the Sidney High School auditorium. All proceeds from ticket sales will benefit Big Brothers Big Sisters of Shelby and Darke County.

The evening will provide an educational platform for any interest level when it comes to retirement and investment planning, Eikenberry said. The featured speaker will be legendary coach Lou Holtz. Holtz was an assistant at Ohio State under Coach Woody Hayes. He went on to be head coach at the University of Minnesota, University of South Carolina and Notre Dame and others. He later became a college football analyst for ESPN and is now in much demand as a motivational speaker.

Eikenberry said that when the opportunity became available to bring in a national speaker, he jumped at the chance to get Holtz. He said it just made sense that Big Brothers Big Sisters be selected to benefit from the ticket proceeds. He hopes that ticket sales will number at least 700 and wants to raise $20,000 for the organization.

Boeckman mentioned that there are a number of other speakers on the panel. In addition, several autographed footballs and books will be raffled. The event is designed for people of all ages. Tickets can be purchased at www.Ohio2017.com.
