SIDNEY — One-time Sidney Daily News editor Delia Amos, as portrayed by Faye Spangler, of Sidney, will be the featured speaker during a summer tea in the Ross Historical Center, 201 N. Main Ave., July 13, at 11 a.m.

The Shelby County Historical Society will host the tea, whose menu will be salad, finger sandwiches and desserts.

Spangler’s Amos will share stories about the Titans of Industry, a year-long theme of historical society events, along with a few bits of gossip from the local paper. Amos was one of the first women in the state to be actively engaged in the management of, as well as the writing for, a daily newspaper. She received statewide recognition for her accomplishments.

Tickets for the tea cost $15 dollars for historical society members, $18 for nonmembers. They must be purchased by July 10, and they are available at the Ross Historical Center and by phone at 498-1653 or email at [email protected].
