Council updated on street project

NEW BREMEN – The New Bremen Village Council heard an update on a village street project, tabled a third reading of two annexation agreements, and moved forward on readings for a contract with the emergency squad as well as an ordinance concerning small cell transmitters during its meeting Monday night.

Village Administrator Chris Dicke reported that the Front Street/Eastmoor Drive street project was progressing well, with water lines completed east to Park Street. She said the installation of sanitary sewers expected to begin next week. Dicke also said that installation of wastewater pumps had been rescheduled for July. She said the installers need four straight days of dry weather.

Tabled were third readings of two annexation agreements with German Township. Mayor Jeff Pape said there were still questions concerning the exact tax amounts involved and he would meet with German Township soon.

In other business, council passed:

• A third reading of a resolution of the Emergency Medical Technician Paramedic Services with the New Bremen Emergency Squad.

• A first reading of resolution for annual insurance renewal for village property, vehicles and equipment with the Public Entities Pool of Ohio, a self insurance pool.

• A first reading of an ordinance in regards to House Bill 478 Small Cell legislation.
