Piqua police catch alleged burglar

PIQUA — Piqua police recently apprehended a Houston resident believed to have been stealing from his family members in Piqua.

Nicholas I. Cox, 30, of Houston, was picked up on Wednesday, Dec. 2, on a warrant for second-degree felony burglary. The charge was in connection with an incident on Sept. 30 when Piqua police responded to a report of a burglarly on the 700 block of Vine Street. A 42-inch Toshiba flat screen television was reported stolen from inside a home.

Cox is also facing multiple other charges unrelated to this incident, including fourth-degree felony theft, first-degree misdemeanor unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, and first-degree misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia.

Cox is currently being held at the Miami County Jail on a total of $25,000 cash only bond. He is awaiting arraignment in the Miami County Municipal while his felony charges have been bound over to Miami County Common Pleas Court.
