Sidney City Council

SIDNEY — Sidney City Council will meet Monday at 6:30 p.m. in council chambers.

Oaths of office will be given to at-large council members elected in November and a police officer will be sworn in. Council will hold an executive session to discuss who will be the mayor and vice mayor, and then will come out of executive session to consider resolutions electing those officers.

An update will be given on the Downtown Sidney Task Force’s activities and council will consider ordinances making supplemental appropriations for this year and appropriations for next year; amending personnel policies, procedures and regulations; adopting a pay table; and assessing the cost of weed cutting or junk removal.

Council will consider resolutions to reappoint members to the Sidney-Shelby Economic Partnership Council, the Citizens Peer Review Committee and the Personnel Board of Appeals; authorize an agreement with the Turtle Creek Township trustees to share road maintenance; authorize litigation concerning sanitary sewer inspections; authorize a street-lighting contract; authorize an agreement with the Ohio Department of Transportation for bridge removal; authorize a cash advance to the airport improvement fund; and to accept a lot for parkland.

In an executive session, council will discuss negotiations with public employees, purchase of property, and pending or imminent court action.

Jackson Center Village Council

JACKSON CENTER — Jackson Center Village Council will meet Monday, Dec. 14, at 7 p.m., in council chambers.

Council will swear in new council member James DeVine. Council will also have the third and final reading of the annual budget ordinance to make appropriations for current expenses and other expenditures of the village during the 2016 fiscal year.

Council will also read several ordinances for the first time and hear committee reports.

Edison Community College Board of Trustees

PIQUA — The Edison Community College Board of Trustees will meet Wednesday, Dec. 16, at 2:30 p.m. at the college.

The board will hear finance, academic state, and Darke County Campus reports. A report on low-enrollment tracking and the president’s report also will be given.

Sidney-Shelby County Board of Health

SIDNEY — The Sidney-Shelby County Board of Health will meet Wednesday, Dec. 16, at 7 p.m., in the health department offices, 202 W. Poplar St.

The board will discuss budgets, HIV/hepatitis C recommendations, an emergency response plan, and environmental health issues.

During the meeting, the board will convene a public hearing concerning food safety program fees.

Shelby County Regional Planning Commission

SIDNEY — The Shelby County Regional Planning Commission’s board will meet Wednesday, Dec. 16, at 7:30 p.m. in the commissioner’s meeting room at 129 E. Court St.

The board will discuss the proposed zoning map for Orange Township, draft the 2016 budget, set the 2016 meeting schedule, approve surveys, and hear the director’s report from Dianna Reisinger.

Midwest Regional Educational Service Center Board

RUSHSYLVANIA — The Midwest Regional Educational Service Center’s regular board meeting will be held Thursday, Dec. 17, at 5:30 p.m. at the Helmuth family restaurant, 9063 State Route 68 North.

The Midwest Regional Educational Service Center’s 2016 organizational and regular board meeting will be held on Jan. 14 at 6 p.m. The meeting will be held at Indian Lake Schools (boardroom) located at 6210 State Route 235, Lewistown.
