SIDNEY — Alcohol is suspected to be a factor in the cause of an accident that happened Wednesday, Dec. 16, just before 9 p.m.

Deputies responded to a two-vehicle injury accident on Riverside Drive at Riverbend Boulevard in which all vehicle occupants were transported to Wilson Memorial Hospital, according to the Shelby County Sheriff’s Office.

Preliminary investigation revealed that a southbound white Toyota Titan pickup truck, driven by Christopher A. Clark, attempted to turn left onto Riverbend, crossing the path of a northbound light blue Ford four-door sedan driven by Blake Stephens, with passenger Devon Wita.

Stephens was trapped in the driver’s seat of the car he was driving and required Sidney Fire to use multiple mechanical extraction devices to free him. He was then transported to Miami Valley Medical Center by CareFlight from Wilson Hospital.

Wita and Clark were treated for injuries at Wilson.

The crash remains under investigation.
